I think we have a water terrain in 2.0. It's a normal texture that you walk on, but it looks like water. It isn't quite what we wanted but it's getting there.
@SuperMrMojo We do have confirmed water textures, but like you said not the "real" thing. At least we are on the right path to getting water that functions properly.
Water is tricky to put in something like Disney Infinity. They would have to make all new swimming animations for EVERY character to have water in the toy box. Taking time to do that would take time and resources away from making playsets, which we all know people want more of. It's hard to justify. Making video games is a lot of work.
@jmob22 All true. I am pretty sure they are seriously considering water mechanics seeing as they mentioned Ariel at the Toy Box summit as one the most requested characters. DI could leave water out of the toy box for now and just create a water based play set for Ariel. That would save them from having to create swimming animations for every character besides the ones in the play set. Ariel could swim in her play set and walk in the toy box.
Yeah, I can't wait until we get to use the water terrains. Also, I was tweeting with JV and I found out that there's some content from The Princess and the Frog aka my all time favorite Disney film, being added into 2.0. There's sure to be interior and customization in it, but he's not sure about toy box toys yet, since there's hundreds of new toys in it.
It could be cool if we could turn everything all the way around, especially the blocks. So you e.g. could place the couch on the wall, or lay a column block down.
BTW, I'm also hyped for the Princess and the Frog content in the game. Great movie!
