So yeah Greninja. I think I have a new favourite Pokémon. I mean, it's a frog, which uses its tongue as a scarf, and its signature move is throwing water shurikens.
Kabutops used to be my favourite, but Greninja gives me a similar vibe for some reason. Plus, it doesn't have that awful 4x weakness Kabutops always had to Grass-type attacks, since it's a Water/Dark type. Which is a really cool combo! Dark is actually my fifth favourite type, so this is a very favourable combination of a typing I like, a design which looks awesome and has a good creative value, and a Pokémon which doesn't have crippling weaknesses like a lot of others I like.
So, when X/Y comes out, I think I'll be soft resetting for a Shiny Froakie, which I'll make as my main for years to come. By the way, if you haven't seen a Shiny Froakie yet, it's a Kermit-like green. Since Greninja's colours reverse with the darker blue being the main and the lighter blue just being used on the flaps on its head I imagine that it will look really cool. It's kind of amusing that my two favourite Pokémon both have green-coloured Shiny forms.
Anyway, enough about that. Sorry I haven't posted in here for a while, but I haven't been very motivated to draw a lot of fan-art, besides some linearts(and some of those were never ironed out anyway). But since I love Greninja so much I decided to draw a proper pic of him.
It's just a WIP for now, though. Here's the link to it
Yep, I got really lazy on some parts. >.> After fiddling with the tongue for a while and being unable to get it to look scarf-like, I just ended up pretty much copying one of the screenshots of him. Also, the bits that the eyes are sort of on, I drew too long(they're shorter on the official design... And they just make his eyes too small here, no?). And the chest, boy, the chest. I was never good at drawing those kind where the top is so much larger than the bottom and it's a cone-like thing. Just a nightmare. It's a shame, as I always liked how those looked.
Also, I just realised how badly I have to work on drawing within my space. I should have probably drawn it vertically instead, but oh well. I guess I'll just make it into a desktop wallpaper type thing.
Anyway, yeah, I'm really bad at drawing that body type, so I'm fairly happy with how it is so far considering that, but it needs a lot of adjustments. Probably just gonna need to make a bunch of stuff smaller.
