Skellington0327, thanks but my question wasn't wether I can buy 1.0 toys in 2.0? My question was, will I be able to buy (or unlock) toys from the Lone Ranger playset even though I never bought the Lone Ranger playset? Will I need to have the Lone Ranger playset piece to put on the base in order to access it's toys in 2.0...or will the Lone Ranger toys be available in 2.0 to anyone?

All the Lone Ranger stuff will be available in the toy box store in 2.0, you don't have to have the Lone Ranger playset piece to get them. You'll just have to use blue sparks to purchase the items.

Does this also mean I won't need to buy some of the 1.0 figure I never got around to buying, but can still access the items in the vault they would have unlocked? For example, I never bought all the Incredibles figures, so I never got to open the Incredibles vault. Will I have access to all those vault items in 2.0 even if I never get the rest of the Incredibles figures?

Not having the 1.0 play sets work in 2.0 is causing a lot of confusion in stores. I'll be standing in the DI aisle and watch as other parents try to figure out what works with what. They want the 2.0 set because it's newer, but they also want the Cars' play set because their son likes Cars. Why doesn't it work? But the characters work? It's really confusing.
3.0 needs to just have everything included. All play sets from 1.0 on.

I agree vongruetz, I've given a few lessons in the DI aisle now.

^Eventually it all won't fit on the disc. I'm surprised Skylanders hasn't had that issue yet

Thanks for this comparison thread, really helps out, so just so I understand, if I got 1.0's WonderLand's Landscape or Hook's ship or Headless Horseman 's Horse, I can use 'em in 2.0???

^ yes, all power discs and figures from 1.0 will work in the 2.0 toy box
