No Toy Box Only Marvel Figures in Disney Infinity 2.0

It doesn't mean it can't happen. They could be in playsets, like Deadpool in Ultimate Spiderman!

Toy Box Only figures shouldn't even exist anyway, I don't understand why they made that decision in the first place.

If I want to play as Syndrome in the Avengers playset, why is that a problem? I can go around as Syndrome in the Incredibles playset trying to capture...Syndrome.

What does them liking money have to do with this decision? If anything I would be LESS likely to spend money on a figure that I know only works in the Toy Box.

And if they don't want their properties mingling then why does the Toy Box mode exist?

@mva They want to be able to put as many figures possible related to a particular property so that people will have to buy figures from that property, and spend more money. The reason for Toy Box mode was to build whatever you wanted with whichever characters you like. Hope this helps

my daughter, like many peoples daughters, loves Elsa. So when it was time for her to pick out a figure, she picked Elsa. She didn't care at all that there wasn't a Frozen playset, and she doesn't care that she can't play the Incredibles playset as Elsa. If Disney didn't make an Elsa figure (or waited until they decided to make a Frozen playet) that would be money they didn't get. Same goes for my son and Agent P.

So based on this small sample size, you didn't buy 1 figure toybox only figure, and I bought two. So Disney is still up $13.

The reason Toy box exist has been explained, they had to convince Lasseter that it wasn't the properties mixing, but a kid playing with toys, like in the Toy Story movies.
But once you put Woody in Radiator Springs, it's not a toy box anymore, its Woody going Turbo.

Deadpool could go in the spider-man playset because there is a whole episode of ultamate spider-man all about Deadpool!! they even call the episode Ultamate Deadpool
