I made a whole thread about how it is cheaper to buy the Starter pack even when you have one, if you would like to see it.
It is called "Always go with the Starter Pack"

I believe JV said somewere that you can purchase the 2.0 Toy Box from that platform's digital store(excluding PS4 and Xbox One). Can someone confirm where he said this?

The Avengers playset, and Thor will be available separately , but if you want to upgrade and buy those things, it'll cost more than buying the starter pack.

So say there's three Disney playsets I want to buy, do I have to buy the starter pack with a playset I don't want and three figures I don't want just to play the three Disney playsets?

But then again I can't upgrade since I don't have Xbox live. Oh well, I'm still not sure if I'll even buy this one since I need to know what Disney playsets are being released before I buy. I may not end up buying it until 2015.

I figured if you did the digital upgrade and bought the avengers playset and Thor at full price it would be close to $50 meaning it is actually cheaper to do it if you add a game disc then about $55 so you would save close to $20 correct me if I'm wrong

There's still the 2 Toy Box games to get too. We don't know how those will be offered separately.

Just to clarify you're actually saying that you can either buy the DI 2.0 or upgrade your DI 1.0 however if you just bought the DI 2.0 starter set you will be able to enjoy DI 1.0 without any of the changes mentioned in the upgrade and use your DI 1.0 figures in the DI 2.0 Toybox anyway.

If you do use your 1.0 figures in 2.0 will that prevent them being used in 1.0?

If not the argument I see is that even if you did upgrade your original DI you would still need to buy the DI 2.0 to get access to the figures included in the Avengers Playset and whatever they release for Disney Originals version of the Starter Set... is that correct?

JV said that after launch the Avengers will be able to be bought as a playset and I believe Thor as a single. It would be cheaper to get the starter pack. ;)
