Disney Infinity 2 confirmed for next gen

Actually thinking about it, I'm not sure that the current portals would work on the next gen systems. The madcatz fight sticks don't work, and they have the exact same plugin spot as the portals.

I currently play on the Wii U but I'm really looking forward to playing on the PS4, especially if I don't have to buy a new Infinity base.

@ozzsoad I'm pretty sure you will. Im only guessing here but I'd say the Infinity base for each console will work for di 2 but not cross platform. Eg ps3 Infinity base will work for ps3 di 2

The Wii U and PS3 Infinity bases are supposedly interchangeable, but the XBox360 one only works on that console. It seems likely the Wii U/PS3 Infinity base would be compatible with the PS4.

no details on the forward compatibility of the Infinity base are know yet. we will hopefully find out soon.

I really hope they let you use the portal on the new consoles. I have DI 1.0 for Wii U, but would rather use my PS4 going forward. Hopefully I can just use the same base. Don't really want to buy a whole new base, especially since I was an early adopter of DI 1.0.

The Wii is not compatible with the PS4. You'll almost definitely need a new base. It's not Disney's fault though. The slots on the consoles are different.

Wii U uses USB just like PS4. The Wii U base works with PS3 so there shouldn't be a reason to need a new base.

Will the PS3 version be made worse than the PS4 version like with DI1 for Wii?
