All it is is an active usb extender cable, get one for 5 bucks! Monoprice is a very reliable website to purchase from... been buying from them for over 5+ years.

I believe that the cord that comes with the set is 6' itself. The 6' extension says on the package that it doubles the length.

Oh, nice. If it is 6' out of the box that will be plenty to extend the base over to my desk. I was not sure if I would need the extension or not.

The cable is 6 feet long. The extension adds another 6 feet. I honestly think that the original 6 feet is long enough in most cases.

If you're like me and have a projector, there's a 15' active extender from mono price that's works for Kinect, I'll confirm later if it works for the infinity base
