Disney Infinity 2 q3 2014 for next gen but no Wii ?

I'm sure the Wii U version is here to stay. I really think the wii u will see a resurgence in sales soon. A lot of families are slower to upgrade to the next gen, so with the original wii becoming a no go for new games upgrading to the Wii U is going to be the best option, (especially with it being the only of the next gen systems with proper backwards compatibility).

I just hope I can save up in time to get it when it comes out (I only got DI1 this Christmas, and don't intend on waiting for DI2 lol)

Also I agree with Maserati777 ...I hope DI2 doesn't look totally different though I am sure I will love it no matter what as they can only make a great game with DI2 as a basis.

If DI2 is going to release in Q3 this year, they really do have to press on and announce it soon, we're pretty far through Q1 already and they need time to promote it, announce additional content etc.

^This is why I still feel if it's this year it's Q4.

Not necessarily. Disney Infinity was announced in January last year and originally planned for a June release. The next Skylanders is probably going to hit in October again, so I imagine Disney will definitely want a good month or more head start.

Alright, so here what we know so far:
1. Wii and 3DS are dropped.
2. 2/6 games by Q3 2014 unless delayed.
3. Inclusion of Marvel and a further inclusion of Star Wars (hopefully more for Muppets).
4. Hiring a larger team.
