I did it an boy am I excited to have completed my set of figures!

Any authentication on whether this photo is real or not?

it is, if you search the forum you'll find the thread where it was posted. it was form a giantbomb video where they showcased the ipad toybox app. these were seen in the character select screen

Not only do they cut cost but they also let the light from the base shine through them and make them "glow". Something Skylanders does very well that I think Disney kind of missed out on as far as light piping their normal figures.
