Man, that "..." at the end of the tweet. Heads are gonna roll. :?

While I'm open to getting these characters (and the possible playset it may come), I fervently hope that Avalanche and Disney Infinity don't think that once they've used an updated version of a character that they can't release a classic version as well.

As with Maleficent, I hope to see classic Walt era versions of Alice In Wonderland sometime in the future. As actual figures, not costume discs.

That being said, Depp Hatter is probably going to look great in the Disney Infinity style. :)

I do like Depp'sversion of Mad Hatter, but the movie version of Alice kind of pales in comparison to the animated one, same with Peter Pan, Maleficent, Aurora among others, even though a costume change disc could fix this, the figure itself will still be this new one that doesn't really look anything like Alice and therefore not really collectible.

If they do release a playset I'd buy it, but these are toy box only figures I'd probably just get Mad Hatter.

Ugh, it'll be live-action. I just know it. Which means that if we do get a new playset, it will be based on the live-action version.

I'm not one to be disappointed, but.... ECH.

That said, I second having a Borat costume disc for time! :D

The figures will be based of the Burton movie because of what happens in these movies! When Alice fought a dragon in the first one, it clearly didn't fit with the Classic version.

I like Burton's version SO MUCH MORE than the animated one. It's a smarter adaption of the books themes and it's not boring to watch. Plus, I think it makes sense for live-action Alice to be in Infinity because animated Alice isn't action oriented at all.

I'm really not a fan of the Burton Alice. It completely misses the point of the books and just turns it into a generic fantasy war movie. Meanwhile the animated Alice is the movie that inspired my love of Disney. So yeah, not exactly happy about this.

The only good thing I can say about this is that at least they actually are including Alice herself in this. I wouldn't have put it past them to ignore her and just release it with the March Hare instead or something.

^ and with that said, please do not turn this topic into yet another "there aren't enough female characters" discussion

Didn't plan on it. That was mainly a joke.

Now "there aren't enough classic Disney characters" on the other hand...

What's the count of purely Walt Disney Animation characters at this point? Something like 21 including Baloo and Peter Pan? And even then like half of them are from movies released in the last six years. That's a pretty poor showing for a studio that's been making films for about 80 years.
