@InfinityApprentice : I will try to remember to shoot some pictures and post them up here. Looks good enough and it's cheap! I think a lot of you would like that solution.

I've been grabbing PDP's Stack N Store shelves when they went on sale for 4.99 at various retailers. Have 18 of them.
Which works great, 9 stack - top shelf is Xbox 360 base, 9 stack - top shelf is PS4 base.
On shelf below the Xbox 360 base base all of 1.0/2.0 playset pieces. On shelf below the PS4 base is reserved for 3.0 playset pieces. The shelves below them both have On left - all Spider-Man figures, on right - all Guardians figures. Below them on left - all 2.0 Originals, on right 1.0 figures, on shelves below them have on left - 1.0 figures, on right - 1.0 figures, on the shelves below them on left - 1.0 figures, on right - 1.0 figures, and on the shelf below those on left - all the crystal figures.
Leaving me with 7 shelves for 3.0 figures.
Depending on the size, bulk and pose of the figure you can get between 5 and 8 on one shelf.
So I should be able to get about 56 more characters on these 7 shelves.

Here is my setup. Those things are inside a wall unit with glass doors. The lights at the top were already there and are a bit useless with the figures. I might change them to something better later.

I hope this is the right way of doing it:

I just bought a couple of ikea's detolf display. The shelves are too spaced out, but I'm pretty sure I can add more shelves I will add some DEL lights on each shelves, and I think it will look fabulous.

@Goofyboy & @Gaudrork I love these ideas. Keep em coming guys. Right now I have all my figures in a rolling plastic cabinet so they can be stored properly. I am looking for a great way to display and protect the figures while not being played. Please keep the pictures coming. I love how all of you are displaying your figures.

My final figure (Tinkerbell and I don't count Crystal/Variants) should arrive tomorrow. My storage solution currently is a big drawer with three sections. Not very safe or visually appealing!

After seeing people's storage solutions on this thread I decided to make something for my 1.0 figure to make some space. It has been popular on twitter
If there is enough interest I can try making a plan for the dimensions. It only cost me £8 for the foam board.
