Mysterious character in Hall of Superheroes!

link as image is larger than 550x550When both red buttons on both sides of the Hall of Superheroes are pressed at the same time, this mysterious figure appears.
Who could he be? Is he a hint at even more upcoming Marvel figures for 2.0? A hint to 3.0?
My immediate thought at seeing this figure was

Definitely could be Thanos. But the first thing that I thought of when I saw the picture was a Sentinel from X-Men.
