Having trouble finding Marvel Power Disc Album!

Postby Rosamouse » Sun Nov 30, 2014 6:07 am

So I keep seeing stuff about the GameStop exclusive power disc album that can hold the entirety of the Marvel Super Heroes power disc set... but I can't find ANYTHING about it on GameStop's website!

Can someone post a link to it for me? Or, is it just an in-store only deal?

They had a bunch at the 2 Gamestops I went to. It appears they're only in store (right now).
I got one. It's pretty nice. BIG though.

So the Marvel Gamestop one is the equivalent of the Disney Originals Target one, I presume?

Yes. Same size, etc. I got both of them.

I ended up sending my brother to get one while he was out. Got it!

What's the difference between the Toys 'R' Us & Target albums btw? Is it just the cover pictures?

Toys R Us albums are just extended versions of the regular albums. They're smaller than the Gamestop and Target albums.

When I was doing the Thanksgiving Sale thing, I had picked up the TRU version of the DI Originals big album with the 5 discs, but I didn't realize it was TRU exclusive and had only heard of the Target exclusive version which I picked up later that evening. (So I put it back on the shelf since BOGO 40% for accessories wasn't until the next morning (when I got the 2x play sets I was missing online.) It was the same size as the GameStop & Target exclusive versions, so you're probably not thinking of the same one that I was talking about.

I have the "Originals" from Target, and the "Marvels" from Gamestop. I didn't know that TRU was carring the "Originals" one. I know that TRU carries an exclusive 1.0 phase 1 album with spaces for their exclusive discs, but I didn't know they had a 2.0 "Originals" album other than the Marvel themed one that has spaces for 21 of the discs, but isn't the same as the Gamestop one. I'll have to check into that one. :) The Gamestop one holds all the discs and has spots marked for each disc.
Do you have a link to the TRU Originals album? I can't find it on their site.

Found a link showing that there's a TRU album that is the same as the Target "Originals" album, except...
1. The cover of the Album has a different picture on it.
2. The 5 discs that come with the Album are different. (The TRU one looks like it comes with a rare disc as well).

The insides look the same though... so I guess it's a matter of which cover you want, and which included discs you want.
If you're looking to score a rare with the album, the TRU is the better way to go I guess. :)
