Clarification on how use 2.0 and 3.0

All I need to play the 2.0 is the PS4 2.0 game disc right? I can use the same base for both versions?
I was able to find a marvel 2.0 starter pack for $20 which with the extra figures make up that cost anyway.
Just new to this set up and want to make sure I can play the playset.
