See The Original 'Frozen' Animation Before It Was Changed By Disney
"Frozen" wasn't always supposed to look this way. Disney's monstrous hit was originally intended to look like it was done by hand-drawn animation, à la "Aladdin" or "Beauty and the Beast." While in production, the film was tentatively titled "Anna and the Snow Queen" and was supposed to follow the lead of 2009's "The Princess and the Frog," which was also drawn in the old-school style.
But when "The Princess and the Frog" underperformed at the box office, Disney changed "Frozen" to look like its more updated films (see: "Tangled"). Disney seems to have made the right choice, considering "Frozen" is now the highest-grossing animated film of all time ... and a cultural phenomenon ... and the inspiration for hundreds of viral videos.
Now, in an awesome stroke of Internet, Disney virtual development artist Cory Loftis posted some of the original artwork from the old "Frozen" universe to his Tumblr.
"I’ve seen this stuff floating around really low rez," Loftis wrote, "so I thought I’d go ahead and post it myself."

Huffington Post'Frozen,' Pharrell Williams Lead Mid-Year SoundScan Charts
With the year half over, the soundtrack to Disney's "Frozen" and Pharrell Williams' "Happy" lead as the year's biggest-selling album and digital song in the U.S., respectively, selling 2.7 million and 5.6 million according to Nielsen SoundScan.
Through the sales week that ended on June 29, the mid-way point of SoundScan's tracking year, "Frozen" is the only album to have sold more than a million copies. The next biggest seller is Beyonce's self-titled set, with 702,000.
The last time a soundtrack led the mid-year album sales chart was in 2006, when another Disney album, "High School Musical," had sold 2.6 million. It ended up as that year's top-selling album, with 3.7 million.
Since 2011, the album that led in sales at the mid-way point ultimately finished as the year's top seller. Adele's "21" was tops in both 2011 and 2012, while Timberlake's "20/20" closed out 2013 as the year's best. So, there's a pretty decent chance that "Frozen" -- especially considering its wide lead over all other albums -- will complete 2014 as the year's biggest album.
("Frozen's" cumulative sales have also jumped past the 3 million mark, as its total sum, through the week ending June 29, rose to 3.03 million. The album was released in November of 2013.)
(Though, an honorable mention should go to Idina Menzel, who sees her "Frozen" soundtrack song "Let It Go" rank as the year's fifth biggest seller.) In 2013, there were six shared acts, while in 2012, there were two.

BillboardFirst Look Inside Wandering Oaken’s Trading Post & Frozen Funland at Disney’s Hollywood Studios
With our summer-long celebration of Disney’s “Frozen” at Disney’s Hollywood Studios starting on Saturday, July 5, I wanted to give you a first look inside Wandering Oaken’s Trading Post & Frozen Funland. Located in Soundstage One between Toy Story Midway Mania and the Studio Backlot Tour, Oaken and his cousins have created a cold-weather wonderland filled with a frozen pond for ice skating demonstrations, photo opportunities, play areas, food and beverage kiosks, and a merchandise shop.
Upon entering Soundstage One, guests pass by the trading post front porch on the way to the frozen pond and the merchandise location. My first stop was the ice skating rink located in the same space recently occupied by Darth’s Mall during Star Wars Weekends 2014. Surrounded by snow-covered trees, I couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw the pond – it’s summer in Florida and I was staring at ice! I haven’t been skating since I lived in Ohio many years ago, so I can’t wait to go.
My next stop was the trading post, which is located in the front area of Soundstage One. This location will be home to a large assortment of “Frozen” merchandise. I found dolls, toys, plush, apparel, consumables, pins and much more. The assortment will evolve throughout the summer as additional items arrive at Disney Parks, like the recently discussed Olaf merchandise I shared in this article.
We will be releasing a new D-Tech on Demand cases for iPhone 4/4S and iPhone 5/5S on Saturday at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. This artwork will also be added to the D-Tech on Demand boutique inside the recently opened Marketplace Co-Op in Downtown Disney Marketplace. The Marketplace Co-Op location will have a few designs not found anywhere else, while the “Frozen Summer Fun” design will only be found at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
Coming next week, we will release three open edition, retail MagicBands at Disney’s Hollywood Studios with pre-printed images of Elsa, Anna and Olaf. As with all retail MagicBand purchases, guests must present one of the following for the MagicBand to be linked to at the time of purchase: valid theme park admission, Memory Maker card or another MagicBand. These items will not be available for purchase online or via Merchandise Guest Services.
I hope you are able to join us this summer as the celebration runs through September 1
