^Exactly! And it is Disney, so the fact they say like and totally do not matter at all! Also, Belle saw people and interacted with them everyday of her life. Anna was the opposite for 13 years! :x

@Star Command
"I thought the movie would prove me wrong, but it didn't."

It seems to me that you had decided you didn't like the movie before you saw it.

Just want to weigh in on the true to time frame and location thing. @Star Command said the last movie to do this right was Princess and the Frog. Well I call malarkey on that based on a movie called Brave. Which came out after. And was excellently done in the vein of diction and accents.

Personal I like the newer style. And while there were maybe a few turns of phrase that weren't time frame accurate (though I would love to know how you are figuring out the time period here). Nothing so glaring as what you used as an example of if belle said.

If you can suspend your disbelief in a teen who has ice powers I think you should be able to suspend your disbelief in the way they are speaking.

Is Elsa a teenager?
I thought she was in her early 20s.

And I think language is key if you're doing a period piece.
Belle is from the 18th-19th century, not the 20th, so those words are really out of place.

Also, Elsa happens to be a Queen, who are specially taught to be very precise and proper with their use of phrasing.
And what does her ice powers have to do with it?
Superhuman or not, she'll still be acting like a person from that era.

@buckmana she was coming of age on coronation day. That's usually 18 I thought.

I believe that Anna is 18, and Elsa is 22.......

^ Could be coming of age is 21. Only age reference I could find from googling was when Elsa was 8 that Anna was 5. No firm source. Came from Disney Wikia.

That's all I could find too, that Anna is 3 years younger then Elsa.

And yes, coming of age is traditionally at 21.
At least, in our time it is.

In the past, it was much younger, around 15 or 16.
But they generally don't tend to acknowledge that fact in most movies, probably because people wouldn't understand why a girl is getting married at 15.
There was even a historical novel I read once (based on real events) where a grandmother considered it a mark of shame that her eldest granddaughter was 18 years old and wasn't married!
And that was relatively recent, at the end of the 19th century.

But for sake of argument, if Elsa is 18 years old, wouldn't that make Anna 15?
