Not everyone can enjoy everything.

I enjoy it. :)

I also LIKE (sometimes) that you have to wait a while to try again.. it stops one from just playing for hours on end....!

Well, that's pretty much the only reason I play games on my mobile device, it's just something to pass the time when there's not really anything else to do (like a long boring trip on an airplane, for example).

But obviously, I'm not actually playing when the life timer is ticking down, making the game downright useless as an entertaining diversion.

You're right - as a time-filler it's not great. As a puzzle, it is (for me). I'm up to 41 now... and it's ludicrously difficult now...

Don't bother with mobile phone games.
Its more likely to make phone calls with a handheld console than a mobile phone getting a good game.
After all you said yourself the game is poorly designed and fandom can't be THAT strong that you have to fight yourself through such a game.

I am on level 84 now without power ups. First and foremost, this game is great for me because I can work for two hours and take a little break to get my fix. Second, you have to hang with it. The longer you are stuck on a board the more help it gives you. I have rarely had to wait more than a day to clear a board. Finally, to those stuck on timed levels, it does not start until your first move. I have found it is easier to map out the first couple of moves before, I begin. The faster you can make a move the more rewarding it is. If you can consistently hit the next move without the board being idle, the points will build up exponentially.

Level 90! The last.... so far. More coming, it says, so now I just potter about trying to get three stars on them all.
