Toy Box Tales Episode 6 is out

Postby quinnjitsu » Fri May 08, 2015 8:55 pm

Toy Box Tales: Nick Fury serves as a prequel to all the previous Toy Box Tales episodes, showing how S.H.I.E.L.D. got the Asgardian Rune Stone featured in earlier episodes and how the villains' plot was put into play.

Hope you all enjoy it! :)

I played it, it was really fun! Also, will you ever make Disney Toy Box tales?

I had a free night tonight and played 3 boxes: Toy Box Tales: Spider-Man, Toy Box Tales: OSCORP lab, and Toy Box Tales: Nick Fury.

I liked the plot line of them all, and the gameplay was also fun!

I enjoyed throwing the bad guys in jail in the first box. It reminded me of the quests we used to have in the Increibles set in 1.0, so it was kind of a throwback to old times!

I give credit to whoever built the OSCORP lab box. INterriors can get tedious when trying to set up logic, and I loved hating that whenever I got close to Doc Oct he disappeared. After the 3rd time I was like 'Thank goodness he's done teleporting!!!'

Episode 6 was really well done! I liked the camera cuts to Fury (I played as him like I was supposed to :P ) when he responded to Coulson, and liked the plot of the box. I'm not a big fan of playforming, but climbing the treehouse was fun and easy enough for me to get through. The trail of frost made it easy to know where I was going, and I'm always a fan of being told where to go (I get lost in Toyboxes easily). I like foreshadowing and prequels, so that made this box a little bit more fun, too!

Eager to play more toy box tales in the future and hope you guys keep making them in 3.0 as well.

Great work, Quinn! This turned out very well. You did a great job of leading the player through the level. There was just the right amount of challenge. When playing through it on the PS4, none of the turrets were there while collecting the fuel for the chopper. It's just "one of those things". Nice work, man!

I finally got around to playing a bunch of boxes too - I really enjoyed this Nick Fury one! Just some no nonsense platforming was exactly what I was in the mood for and this scratched that itch nicely.
Fury in general is a nice character for these kids of boxes because he's so straight forward - buncha guns and that's about all he needs to do.

Unfortunately I often run into bugs or logic glitches in these Toy Box Tales making them impossible to complete, so it was quite nice that this one wasn't too heavy on any complicated stuff and ran pretty smoothly throughout :)
