Puzzle Challenge: 4/23 – 4/29

brainstorm ideas and share your toy box worlds

I'm debating wether to submit this or not, I created a huge toy box that only contains ridiculous amounts of tree houses, and I was thinking of a timed event that has you locate the one "needle in the hay stack". Any thoughts?? If someone thinks this could be interesting id love to finish it but I am curious for thoughts whether it's a completely idiotic idea

Lol, not idiotic. I guess it depends on how much design work you've put into it (or are willing to). For example, are there (or will you add) clues to guide the player along, or are they going in blind?

Hmmm good point, I was planning on doing it blind but clues might make it more realistic

the end of this nightmare box is almost in sight

580 Logic toys placed: ~100 to go
1500+ logic connections completed: ~500 to go

Then I should have a week left to try to find and fix any bad connections (can't really test anything while building until all connections :? )

graphic meter just starting to touch the red - fingers crossed there is enough memory left to place remaining toys. Was hoping to have at least SOME decoration but not sure there will be room :/

the worst part is that if there is no room for decorations & enemy generators, this box will probably appeal to a very small subset of players

yeah - the original plan was for it to support over 250 puzzles with 592,000 possible combinations for timed results, and possibly more given some puzzles may multiple solutions, so the logic needed to account for that. I'm not sure I will have the memory left for the 25+ randomizers that would be required, so the actual number of puzzles will be limited by DI's memory constraints.
As it turns out, the logic toys are very expensive vis-a-vis graphic memory. I wish they would do away with the animations around them to free up space.

@Yorkshire you can resubmit any box that you like, as long as it was not a box chosen for a top 5 before.

Anyway, Surprise! I think I might do a box for this one, something simple, that will be more about choosing the right path. I don't want to specify just yet how will choose that right path. But I will do it very later on. For now I will just take a break.

@gammaquadrant ... I'm not thrilled with the way it's turning out.. Technically good but uninspiring gameplay because the is not enough memory left after the logic
