I'm just curious, why is the top banner not centered or doesn't take up that empty space? I think it would look better centered or expanded. It would be a wonderful thing to updated the banner when 2.0 releases to fit the current theme.

As Sheriff has said, the banner is a historical part of the forums, it won't be changed.
