Amiibos - Debate!

I definitely wouldn't say toad is rare, he's more uncommon.

I have Fox, Captain Falcon, maybe slightly Mega Man and Sonic, and Lucario who are rare.

Alongside that, I have the non rares from the Mario series being Luigi, Yoshi, and Peach, and also from the smash series I have Mario, Luigi, Kirby, Pikachu, and Bowser.

^Really? I'd say he's rare. People have even been putting him up for hundreds of dollars on eBay.

^Putting up is different from being bought. He's very common here in northern Illinois!

Just because scalpers are reselling a figure for more than MSRP does not mean that said figure is rare. Fox is apparently abundant in my area.

Yeah, I guess it does depend on where you live. Where I live Fox Amiibos are pretty common, while Toad Amiibos are pretty rare.
However, some Amiibos do seem to be rare nearly everywhere like Marth and Gold Mario...

Yeah, Toad and Sonic are everywhere around here, but I could find one Mega Man and have yet to find a Mario Series Bowser.

Toad is in stock on a few websites aswell.

Here in Belgium Toad is nicely distributed. Some others on the other hand... I have never even seen Wii Fit Trainer, Villager, Rosalina, Shulk, Meta Knight and Dedede in stores. I really hope Charizard will be in stock in stores here for some time, he's the one I want the most from the new wave.
I only buy Amiibo from characters that I really like and so far I have the following: Fox, Lucario, Mega Man, Captain Falcon, Link, Meta Knight (had to get this one online), Samus and Bowser. Bowser is from the Mario line, I like that pose and look of him more then the Smash Bros. version.

Pretty much everyone is nicely distributed here. Except for Marth, Wii Fit, Villager, Little Mac, Pit, Captain Falcon, and the store exclusives.
