I can tell you that after reviewing hundreds of animation demo reels, considering what school the applicant has graduated from or what degree they've earned is always secondary if not considered at all.
The most important thing I want to know is does the character have weight? does it demonstrate proper animation principles? do the mechanics work (runs, walks, climbing etc..) ?
Technical positions such as rigging or lighting may carry more weight with a degree, but artistic positions like character animation or concept depend only on what you can do
* That being said, a degree comes in handy if you ever want to teach animation (which many artists do during hiatus or between gigs!)
