I'm just curious Doc Jump. Have you played 3.0 yet? How do you know that the 3.0 characters play exactly the same as the 2.0 ones? Who's to say all the new fighting mechanics in 3.0 aren't mostly focused on just the 3.0 characters?

There's also this thing called a budget and the bigger the business, the more they scrutinize it.

Is that really your only retort? The company that just drafted like 3 or 4 extra devs to work on Infinity 3.0? Sure must be lacking money, huh?

@Semerien

I'm only taking information directly from the source, where devs have said that all the melee combat can be found in melee WEAPONS and not the characters.

Put the Sword in the Stone in a 1.0 characters hand and they have just as much melee weapon skill as a 3.0 character. Unless you want to say the devs are wrong.

@Doc Jump At least a new figure gains money to pay for the resources used to give them the new powers.

I doubt they'll sell but so many more 1.0 figures from doing this.

Hence my statement on capitalism.

I didn't say they were lacking in money, but to act like they have unlimited funds to throw at the game is just plain naive.

Now I'm confused. So if all those abilities are in the weapon, why do we need to update the 1.0 characters?

@Mighty

Oh I totally agree, they won't make AS MUCH on say a good number of characters (Phineas, of course, etc), but focusing on a select few very popular characters like Mike (I think he sold the most units?) or the Toy Story characters could certainly bring in some extra cash.

There must be SOMEONE at marketing headquarters who thought rereleases were feasible, due to the postponement of Crystal Mickey into 2.0's lifespan.

@Rem

Because some people would like their characters without weapons to have more than a shoulder bash.

Let's fact it people. This topic is all about resources. It just seems like an extreme waste of resources, not the developers, but the people that complain ever week over stupid wibble.

While I personally don't want them to spend time and resources on 1.0 figures, I can understand why people want it. It adds value to the figures you already purchased.

I think it might make more sense for them to focus on this while they are already adding swimming animations to all of the existing figures (4.0 maybe?).

That's actually a great point Vasuri. Meanwhile the 4 legged characters they've been working on for years may have finished development, which will also free up time for animations.
