While goofing around with sigil waiting on my Dragon Gate capsules to spawn, I found that the cannon base basic toy gains a paintball mode presumably after unlocking the paintball gun from MU. I guess this is the same cannon from the MU paintball arena challenges.
Maybe everyone else already knew this, but I was pleasantly surprised.
